My name is Josée Couture and I’ve been selling real estate in the Toronto market for 25 years. Originally from Quebec City, my first task when I arrived in Toronto in the 1980s was to master English. I’m now fluently bilingual in both official languages. After spending several years in film and communications, I worked for a real estate developer from 1986-1990 which prompted me to study for my real estate license. After obtaining my license in 1990, I worked for a small real estate brokerage based in Toronto for five years. In 1995, I joined RE/MAX where I’ve enjoyed a rewarding career with a remarkable company for the past 18 years. Please visit my Video Page to learn more!

Areas of concentration

I love to work with both, buyers and sellers in Toronto. I concentrate on the central and west communities such as Seaton Village, Christie Pits, Wychwood, Little Italy, Annex and South Annex, Roncesvalles and High Park but I am also referred many clients in East and North communities. I know the City inside out.

Something for Everybody

Many of my clients are professionals who are purchasing their second or third home, but some are referred first-time buyers. I always welcome new clients. I sell primarily residential properties including single-family homes, income properties, lofts and condominiums.

That Extra Touch

Over the years, I’ve expanded my knowledge to enhance what I can offer my clients. In addition to my interior decorating certificate from the Ecole Polytechnique de Sainte-Foy, I’ve completed the courses necessary for my Master Gardener certification at the University of Guelph in 2009-2010. Both of these designations allow me to see far beyond a simple piece of real estate and to realize the potential of a property for both sellers and buyers.

I fell in love with Toronto the minute I arrived here. Whether I’m walking in Edwards Gardens, cycling at Leslie Street Spit or enjoying an afternoon at the R.O.M, I love the diversity Toronto has to offer. My favorite activities include golf, daily gym workouts, hiking, cycling and skating. I love to cook (tourtiere’s my favourite) and I’m an avid gardener. I also love to travel and have visited Greece, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Yucatan and Guadeloupe to name a few. I try to take in as much live theatre, stand-up comedy and music as I can. I love to read – biographies are my favourite. The last concert I attended was a performance by the iconic Canadian band, Blue Rodeo, at Massey Hall.

Giving Back to the Community

I feel it’s vital to give back to the community and I’ve endeavoured over the years to make a difference. For many years on each of my real estate transactions I’ve contributed to two charities - the Children’s Miracle Network - which supports hospitals for children across Canada (RE/MAX Hallmark top contributor for 2012 – Click here)and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - for which I’ve received the ‘SOLD on a Cure’ Achievement Award for 2011.

For five years, I had the rewarding experience of volunteering one day a week at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. Currently, I’m a volunteer tour guide for the Toronto Botanical Garden, conducting tours there as well as at Edwards Gardens and the Toronto Music Garden. I also volunteer at the Toronto Botanical Garden and I’m proud to say I help with planting 20,000 flower bulbs every fall.

As a Master Gardener, I volunteer more than 100 hours every year, assisting with gardening advice clinics, presentation talks, the gardening information line and gardening events serving the public and helping to ‘green’ the city.

On a personal level, I’m also proud to celebrate my 25th donation for Canadian Blood Services. After all, one donation can save up to three lives!

What I can do for you

Buying a home is one of the most momentous tasks you’ll ever undertake, not just because it’s a major transaction, but because you’re searching for a place you can call home. It’s where you’ll put your feet up at the end of every day, watch your kids play in the backyard; hug your partner by the kitchen sink. It’s your refuge from the world, the place where you’ll watch your dreams grow. It has to be perfect. My job is to find you that home!

Saying goodbye to your home can be very poignant, but I like to look at it as the beginning of a new adventure for you. You definitely want to be able to afford that adventure and that’s why you want to get the best price for your house. I’m a tough negotiator and well-equipped to make sure you get the top price for your home. My job is to make the transaction as smooth and uncomplicated as possible.
